Our Story
One street.
One family.
Fifteen years.
How a single takeaway counter on Sandringham Road became three doorways serving Auckland's Hyderabadi community.
— In their words —
"We didn't come here to serve curry. We came here to serve Hyderabad."

How it started
A single counter, in [PLACEHOLDER_FOUNDED].
[PLACEHOLDER_FOUNDER_NAME] arrived in Auckland from [PLACEHOLDER_HOMETOWN] with a recipe book and a single conviction: that the Hyderabadi cooking he'd grown up with deserved a real seat at the New Zealand table.
The first Paradise was a takeaway counter at 581 Sandringham Road. No tables. One tandoor. A short menu. The neighbourhood found it quickly — first the Indian families who recognised the spice profiles, then everyone else.
Within five years the counter had become a dine-in restaurant. Within ten, the family had taken on the building two doors down for private events. Today, the same family runs all three storefronts on the same block, serving the same kitchen.

Fifteen years, in three movements
How a counter became
a block.
01
— Year One —
A single counter
opens at 581.
One tandoor. A short menu. No tables. The neighbourhood found it first — Hyderabadi families who recognised the spice profiles, then everyone else.
Takeaway only · Open evenings
05
— Year Five —
591 opens.
The dine-in arrives.
The takeaway counter at 581 became a destination. The family took on 591 — a full dine-in restaurant two doors down. Same kitchen. Same hands.
Dine-in seating · Tandoor expanded
15
— Year Fifteen —
Three doorways.
One block. One family.
597 came last — a private events house for weddings, parties, gatherings. Today, 581 / 591 / 597 are all run by the same family, all serving from the same kitchen.
Takeaway · Dine-in · Party house
What we do differently
Three things we
won't compromise on.
01
Halal kitchen.
All meat, all dishes.
Every protein in the Paradise kitchen is halal-certified. No exceptions. The whole community can eat the whole menu.
02
Family run.
Three doorways, one team.
Paradise has never franchised. The family that opened the counter in [PLACEHOLDER_FOUNDED] still runs the kitchen, the pass, and the till.
03
Hyderabadi roots.
Not generic Indian.
Mughlai cooking — slow-built gravies, dum biryanis sealed with dough, Hyderabadi desserts you won't find on most NZ Indian menus.
